Project Manager - Strategic Projects - Accra, Ghana

Transquisite Consulting Group is an international consultancy operating across the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa. As we scale our consultancy project portfolio in Ghana, delivered in collaboration with established in-country strategic partners, we are seeking a Project Manager capable of holding the delivery of multiple concurrent, cross-sector engagements to an exacting standard.

This appointment carries genuine weight. The successful candidate will be the person the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Africa and the CEO rely upon to convert agreed strategy into disciplined execution, across engagements that span sectors, jurisdictions and organisations. It suits a delivery professional who leads through structure and relationships in equal measure, who is at ease moving between industries and regulatory contexts, and who understands that in consulting, the quality of delivery is the brand.

Role Overview

The Project Manager will own the end-to-end delivery of Transquisite’s Ghana project portfolio, from the mobilisation of each engagement under its agreed Project Protocol through to closure and lessons learned. The role coordinates contributions from Transquisite’s UK and Nigerian entities, in-country partner organisations and clients across a range of sectors, ensuring that scope, schedule, budget and quality commitments are met and that governance reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships and CEO is accurate, timely and decision-ready.

Transquisite operates a lean management environment: structures are flat, decision-making is close to the work, and delivery is achieved through discipline rather than headcount. Operating on a rolling three-month contract and based in Accra with travel as required, the role requires a self-sufficient practitioner who can establish delivery rigour quickly, navigate sector-specific regulatory requirements confidently, and represent Transquisite with clients and partners at the most senior level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mobilisation, planning and delivery of concurrent cross-sector projects across the Ghana portfolio, ensuring each engagement is executed in accordance with its agreed Project Protocol.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, resource schedules and delivery roadmaps across multi-party engagements involving Transquisite entities, partner organisations and clients.
  • Own project governance, including RAID management, change control, milestone tracking and structured status reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Africa and the CEO.
  • Manage project budgets, commercial milestones and invoicing triggers, ensuring financial performance is visible and variances are escalated early.
  • Coordinate cross-border workstreams spanning the United Kingdom, Nigeria and Ghana, navigating time zones, sector contexts and cultural nuance with professionalism.
  • Ensure each engagement is delivered in compliance with the regulatory, licensing and sector-specific requirements applicable in Ghana and the wider West Africa Corridor, escalating regulatory risk promptly.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day delivery contact for clients and partner organisations, building the trusted relationships upon which repeat engagement depends.
  • Safeguard the confidentiality of client mandates and commercial information throughout delivery, in line with Transquisite’s contractual and data protection obligations.
  • Ensure the quality of all client-facing deliverables, upholding Transquisite’s document and presentation standards across every engagement, while keeping delivery lean and free of unnecessary process.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to the continuous refinement of Transquisite’s delivery methodology as the Ghana portfolio scales.

Candidate Profile

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering or a related discipline is required. A recognised project management certification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP or AgilePM is essential.
  • Extensive commercial project delivery experience gained across multiple sectors, with a minimum of six years in project management, and a strong preference for candidates from consulting or professional services environments.
  • A demonstrable record of delivering cross-sector, multi-party or multi-jurisdictional projects, with the versatility to adapt delivery approach to the norms of each industry.
  • Strong regulatory understanding, including practical experience of delivering projects within regulated environments and managing licensing, compliance and statutory requirements, ideally within Ghana or the wider West African market.
  • Proven experience of operating in a lean management environment, self-sufficient, hands-on and effective with minimal supporting infrastructure, and skilled at achieving delivery discipline without heavy process.
  • Proven experience of executive-level reporting and governance, with the ability to distil complex delivery positions into clear, decision-ready summaries.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budget ownership, margin protection and milestone-based invoicing.
  • Confident command of project toolsets such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana or equivalent, together with advanced proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the diplomacy to align parties with differing interests behind a common delivery plan.
  • Available to commence at short notice and based in, or able to work from, Accra with travel as required.

Why This Opportunity is Unique

  • Take delivery ownership of a growing international, cross-sector project portfolio at its formative stage, with the authority to establish the standards others will follow.
  • Report directly to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Africa and the CEO, operating with a degree of executive access rarely afforded to delivery roles.
  • Deliver genuinely cross-border engagements across the United Kingdom, Nigeria and Ghana within a partnership-led operating model.
  • A lean, entrepreneurial operating environment where delivery ownership is real, bureaucracy is minimal and consistent performance is rewarded with continuity as the portfolio, and the role, expands.
