Transquisite Consulting Group is strengthening its research and insight capability in Ghana and is seeking a strategic Market Research Consultant to join our project delivery team in Accra on a rolling three-month contract. This role sits at the very front of our business development cycle. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying commercial opportunities across sectors and producing the complex research and data upon which our Business Analysts build compelling, evidence-led proposals.
This is an opportunity for a research professional who thinks commercially, not just analytically. The ideal candidate understands that research is only as valuable as the decisions it enables, and takes pride in producing intelligence that is rigorous, current, and immediately usable by those shaping client solutions.
Role Overview
The Market Research Consultant will work in close partnership with our Business Analysts and Project Managers, providing the evidence base for proposals that address cross-sector business needs across Ghana and the wider West African market. The role is project-based and structured as a rolling three-month contract, renewed in line with active and incoming projects.
In this role, research is more than information gathering. It is the foundation of every proposal we present: it identifies where the opportunities lie, quantifies the markets they sit within, and equips our analysts with the data and insight they need to build solutions that win.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify commercial opportunities across multiple sectors in Ghana and the wider West African market through structured market scanning, competitor analysis, and stakeholder mapping.
- Design and execute complex research programmes, combining primary research methods such as interviews, surveys, and expert consultations with rigorous secondary data analysis.
- Produce robust market sizing, segmentation, demand, and feasibility analysis to underpin proposal development across diverse sectors.
- Deliver research findings and datasets to Business Analysts in structured, proposal-ready formats, ensuring accuracy, currency, and clear sourcing throughout.
- Monitor regulatory, economic, and sector developments that affect client opportunities, and provide timely intelligence briefings to the project team.
- Build and maintain relationships with in-market data sources, industry bodies, chambers of commerce, and professional networks to strengthen the quality and depth of research outputs.
- Translate complex findings into clear narratives, summaries, and actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders and proposal teams.
- Validate assumptions within draft proposals and provide rapid supplementary analysis during live bid and proposal cycles.
- Develop and maintain a structured repository of market intelligence to support reuse, comparison, and efficiency across successive projects.
- Uphold research ethics, data protection, and confidentiality standards across all research activity and client-related work.
Candidate Profile
- A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or a recognised market research qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
- At least five years of experience in market research, insight, or strategy consulting, ideally spanning multiple sectors.
- A demonstrable record of producing research that has directly informed proposals, bids, business cases, or investment decisions.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and at least one analysis or visualisation tool such as SPSS, Power BI, Tableau, or R.
- Established knowledge of the Ghanaian business environment, with networks and sector familiarity across West Africa considered a strong advantage.
- Excellent written English and report-crafting ability, with the confidence to present findings to senior stakeholders.
- A self-directed working style, comfortable with project-based engagement, shifting priorities, and the pace of live proposal cycles.
- Based in or able to work from Accra, with the right to work in Ghana.
Why This Opportunity is Unique
- Occupy a front-line strategic role within an international consultancy operating across the UK-Africa corridor.
- See your research translated directly into client proposals, giving your work immediate and visible commercial impact.
- Engage with a genuine variety of cross-sector projects rather than a single industry focus.
- Benefit from a rolling contract structure that offers both flexibility and continuity across an active project pipeline.
