Project Finance Manager - Strategic Projects - Accra, Ghana

Transquisite Consulting Group is an international consultancy operating across the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa. As part of a significant expansion of our consultancy project portfolio in Ghana, delivered in collaboration with established in-country strategic partners, we are seeking a Project Finance Manager to bring financial structure, discipline and commercial control to a growing portfolio of high-stakes, cross-sector engagements.

This is not a conventional finance appointment. The successful candidate will work directly with the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Africa and the CEO, shaping how projects are priced, funded, controlled and reported across the West Africa Corridor. The portfolio spans multiple sectors, and the role calls for a professional who understands that in a partnership-led business, financial clarity is the foundation of trust.

Role Overview

The Project Finance Manager will serve as the financial backbone of Transquisite's Ghana project portfolio. Working alongside the Business Analyst, Project Manager and Market Research Consultant, the successful candidate will own project budgets, fee structures, revenue share arrangements and financial reporting, ensuring that every engagement is commercially sound from proposal through to close.

Transquisite operates a lean management environment: structures are flat, access to leadership is direct, and every team member is expected to own outcomes rather than tasks. Operating on a rolling three-month contract, the role demands immediate impact, moving between project costing, cash flow management, partner reconciliation and governance reporting, often within the same week, and handling information of a highly confidential and commercially sensitive nature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain project budgets, cost models and fee structures across all Ghana engagements, ensuring each Project Protocol is commercially sound before approval.
  • Manage revenue share arrangements and partner reconciliations across collaborative delivery arrangements, ensuring accuracy, transparency and timeliness throughout.
  • Own project cash flow forecasting, invoicing schedules and payment tracking across multi-party, cross-border engagements.
  • Produce board-quality financial reporting, dashboards and variance analysis for the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Africa and the CEO.
  • Support proposal development with pricing models, margin analysis and financial scenarios that keep bids competitive and profitable.
  • Monitor project financial performance against budget, flagging risks, overruns and opportunities early and recommending corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghanaian tax, statutory and regulatory financial requirements across all engagements, working with local advisers where required.
  • Manage foreign exchange exposure and cross-border payment considerations across engagements spanning the United Kingdom, Nigeria and Ghana.
  • Establish and maintain financial controls, documentation standards and audit trails consistent with Transquisite's confidentiality obligations and data protection requirements in Ghana and the United Kingdom.
  • Contribute financial insight to business development activity, including proposals, pitches and commercial negotiations across the West Africa Corridor.

Candidate Profile

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline is required. A professional qualification such as ICAG, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in project finance, management accounting or financial control, ideally within consulting, professional services or project-based environments.
  • Proven experience of managing project budgets, revenue share arrangements or multi-party commercial structures.
  • Strong understanding of the Ghanaian tax and regulatory environment, with familiarity across the wider West African market considered a strong advantage.
  • Proven experience of working within a lean management environment, comfortable with flat structures, broad ownership, minimal supervision and resource-efficient ways of working.
  • Proven ability to engage credibly with executive-level stakeholders and external partners, presenting financial analysis as a clear, business-focused narrative.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability, with proficiency in accounting software and reporting tools.
  • Experience of cash flow management and foreign exchange considerations within cross-border engagements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline, with the judgment to handle highly confidential material appropriately.
  • Available to commence at short notice and based in, or able to work from, Accra with travel as required.

Why This Opportunity is Unique

  • Operate at the centre of Transquisite's Ghana expansion at its formative stage, with the opportunity to build the financial architecture of a growing cross-sector portfolio.
  • Report directly to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Africa and the CEO, with exposure to commercial decision-making that finance professionals rarely access this early.
  • Work across the West Africa Corridor on genuinely cross-border, multi-party engagements spanning the United Kingdom, Nigeria and Ghana.
  • A lean, entrepreneurial operating environment where contribution is visible, bureaucracy is minimal and performance is rewarded with continuity and expanded responsibility.
