Business Analyst- Strategic Projects - Accra, Ghana

Transquisite Consulting Group is an international consultancy operating across the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and Sub-Sahara Africa. As part of a significant expansion of our consultancy project portfolio in Ghana, delivered in collaboration with established in-country strategic partners, we are seeking a Business Analyst with the intellect and presence to operate at the heart of high-stakes, cross-sector engagements.

This is not a conventional analyst appointment. The successful candidate will work directly with the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Africa and the CEO, shaping how projects are scoped, structured and commercially modelled across the West Africa Corridor. The portfolio spans multiple sectors, and the role calls for a professional who can move fluently between industries, commercial contexts and regulatory environments, and who understands that in a partnership-led business, insight is only as valuable as the confidence it creates.

Role Overview

The Business Analyst will serve as the analytical engine of Transquisite’s Ghana project portfolio. Working across cross-sector consulting and advisory engagements, the successful candidate will translate client requirements into structured project definitions, build the analyses that underpin project protocols and commercial arrangements, and ensure that decisions taken at the Director and CEO level are grounded in evidence.

Transquisite operates a lean management environment: structures are flat, access to leadership is direct, and every team member is expected to own outcomes rather than tasks. Operating on a rolling three-month contract and based in Accra with travel as required, the role demands immediate impact, moving between client-facing discovery, commercial and regulatory analysis, and governance reporting, often within the same week, and handling information of a highly confidential and commercially sensitive nature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements gathering and discovery across new and prospective Ghana engagements, translating client and partner objectives into clearly structured scopes, deliverables and success measures across a range of sectors.
  • Develop the analyses that underpin each Project Protocol, including commercial modelling, fee and revenue share scenarios, resourcing assessments and delivery timelines.
  • Conduct cross-sector market, competitor and regulatory analysis across the Ghanaian and wider West African markets to inform client recommendations and Transquisite’s market positioning.
  • Assess the regulatory, licensing and compliance context of each engagement, ensuring project design reflects the requirements of the relevant sector and jurisdiction.
  • Prepare board-quality briefing papers, dashboards and decision documents for the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Africa and the CEO.
  • Map and document business processes across collaborative delivery arrangements, identifying risks, dependencies and opportunities for efficiency in keeping with a lean operating model.
  • Support the governance of live projects through structured reporting on progress, risks, issues and commercial performance.
  • Facilitate workshops and structured stakeholder sessions with clients and partner organisations, capturing outputs with precision and discretion.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation standards across all engagements, consistent with Transquisite’s confidentiality obligations and data protection requirements in Ghana and the United Kingdom.
  • Contribute analytical insight to business development activity, including proposals, pitches and market entry assessments across the West Africa Corridor.

Candidate Profile

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Management Information Systems or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or a recognised business analysis certification such as BCS, IIBA CBAP or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Extensive commercial experience gained across multiple sectors, with a minimum of five years in a business analyst, strategy or commercial analyst capacity, ideally within consulting or professional services.
  • A demonstrable breadth of cross-sector knowledge, with the ability to get up to speed quickly in unfamiliar industries and translate sector dynamics into commercial insight.
  • Strong regulatory understanding, including experience of assessing licensing, compliance and regulatory frameworks and their implications for project and commercial design, ideally within Ghana or the wider West African market.
  • Proven experience of working within a lean management environment, comfortable with flat structures, broad ownership, minimal supervision and resource-efficient ways of working.
  • Proven ability to engage credibly with executive-level stakeholders, presenting complex analysis as a clear, business-focused narrative.
  • Strong commercial modelling and analytical skills, with advanced Excel capability and proficiency in visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Experience in process mapping and structured documentation techniques, with familiarity with both agile and waterfall delivery environments.
  • Exceptional written English and document craftsmanship, with the judgment to handle highly confidential material appropriately.
  • Available to commence at short notice and based in, or able to work from, Accra with travel as required.

Why This Opportunity is Unique

  • Operate at the centre of Transquisite’s Ghana expansion at its formative stage, with the opportunity to shape how a growing cross-sector portfolio is structured and delivered.
  • Report directly to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, Africa and the CEO, with exposure to strategic decision-making that analysts rarely access this early.
  • Work across the West Africa Corridor on genuinely cross-border, cross-sector engagements spanning the United Kingdom, Nigeria and Ghana.
  • A lean, entrepreneurial operating environment where contribution is visible, bureaucracy is minimal and performance is rewarded with continuity and expanded responsibility.
