We have been engaged to identify an experienced Export Area Manager to spearhead the market expansion and customer engagement of a global Agrochemicals brand across West Africa. If you are a commercially driven leader with a proven track record in agrochemical sales and are passionate about growing key accounts and building long-term B2B regional partnerships, this role is for you!
Reporting to the leadership team. you will take full ownership of the region’s market development strategy—driving customer acquisition, nurturing distributor and partner relationships, and expanding our footprint across both established and emerging markets in the territory. You’ll represent a portfolio of sustainable, science-based agricultural solutions, from biostimulants to specialty fertilizers and co-formulants, making a real difference in how farmers grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive regional sales strategy across West Africa to grow revenue, increase market share, and deepen customer engagement across BioSolutions, biostimulants, fertilisers, and crop protection products.
- Manage and grow large key accounts, ensuring exceptional service delivery, value creation, and long-term client retention.
- Lead business development efforts, identifying and pursuing new distribution channels, strategic partnerships, and growth opportunities across target countries.
- Conduct regular in-market visits to build customer relationships, support distributors, gather market intelligence, and identify emerging trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, technical, regulatory) to tailor offerings to local market needs and ensure strong brand positioning.
- Report sales performance, pipeline status, and customer feedback regularly to leadership, using data insights to inform strategic adjustments.
- Leverage deep understanding of agrochemical solutions (biostimulants, biosolutions, fertilizers, phytosanitaries) to deliver product value propositions tailored to each market segment.
- Serve as the company’s commercial ambassador across the region—spending significant time in the field, visiting clients, attending trade events, and identifying business opportunities.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in agrochemical sales within West Africa, ideally with exposure to BioSolutions, fertilisers, or phytosanitary products.
- Demonstrated success in account management, sales development, and territory growth in multi-country or cross-border contexts.
- Strong understanding of West African agriculture markets, distribution models, and customer behaviours.
- Fluency in English and French at a C1 level (both will be assessed during the selection process).
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the region (up to 50–70%) to build client relationships and support local partners.
- Commercial acumen, cultural sensitivity, and a strategic mindset capable of working independently while aligning with global business goals.
