Our client is a leading and rapidly expanding logistics company in Nigeria, recognised for delivering innovative, reliable, and technology-driven solutions in supply chain management, warehousing, and transportation across the nation.

They have exclusively engaged us to identify an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and optimise logistics operations, driving efficiency, profitability, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer satisfaction throughout the organisation.

Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Operations Manager will oversee all end-to-end logistics operations, including fleet management, warehousing, supply chain management, and last-mile delivery.

The role is responsible for implementing process improvements, achieving cost efficiencies, and maintaining compliance with Nigerian transport and safety regulations. You will lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, drive operational excellence, and ensure superior service delivery for clients and partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Logistics & Operations Management
  • Lead daily logistics operations, including fleet management, warehousing, and last-mile delivery.
  • Ensure 95%+ on-time delivery rate across customer accounts.
  • Oversee scheduling, routing, and tracking systems to maximise efficiency.
  1. Process Optimisation
  • Implement logistics best practices, automation, and technology-driven processes.
  • Achieve ≥10% annual operational cost savings through continuous improvement.
  • Reduce turnaround time (TAT) across fleet and warehouse operations.
  1. Financial & Risk Control
  • Develop and manage operational budgets with ≤5% variance.
  • Manage vendor contracts, cost negotiations, and supply chain procurement.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with safety, labor, and transport regulations in Nigeria.
  1. Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead and mentor logistics coordinators, drivers, warehouse staff, and operations supervisors.
  • Build high-performing teams with ≥90% staff retention in key roles.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, regulators, and partners to strengthen relationships.
  • Ensure ≥85% customer satisfaction scores through service quality and responsiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • 7–10 years in logistics/operations, with at least 3 years in a senior management role.
  • Strong track record in fleet management, warehousing, distribution, and customer service.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian transport/logistics regulations and market dynamics.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma, APICS, CILT, or PMP preferred.
